What changed in the current exam cycle

  • 2025 AHA/AAP pediatric BLS dropped two-finger infant compressions; use the heel of 1 hand or 2 thumb–encircling hands.
  • Severe choking in a responsive adult or child: cycles of 5 back blows then 5 abdominal thrusts (not abdominal thrusts alone).
  • Infant severe FBAO remains 5 back blows then 5 chest thrusts with the heel of 1 hand — no abdominal thrusts.

High-yield facts (commonly tested)

  • Official cognitive form is much shorter (~25Q, 84%) than UniPrep’s 60Q / 45 min / 84% diagnostic.
  • A BLS Provider card still requires skills — this site cannot issue AHA certification.
  • Adult CPR without an advanced airway: 30:2; two-rescuer child/infant: 15:2; compression rate 100–120/min.
  • Infant depth about 1.5 inches (4 cm) or one-third AP diameter; adults at least 2 inches (5 cm).

How this deck compares

OpenExamPrep 100Q banks and HeartStartCPR quizzes own volume. UniPrep wins when you want a timed 60Q / 84% cognitive diagnostic (free 25-question version) that already uses 2025 infant and FBAO science, plus a planned ownable Anki waitlist — not a 25-question HeartCode substitute and not skills testing.

AHA BLS Provider study guide

What is inside

Planned **60** flashcards across adult CPR & AED, child & infant CPR, choking & opioid emergency, and team dynamics — the same four buckets as the free cognitive check. Built for 2025 AHA BLS science (heel of 1 hand or 2 thumbs for infants; 5 back blows then 5 abdominal thrusts for severe adult/child FBAO), not Heartsaver lay-rescuer or ACLS.

Plan with the free BLS mock (live now)

**Start:** Take the [60-question AHA BLS Provider readiness check (free 25-question version)](/mock-exams/aha-bls-provider-readiness-check) (45 minutes / 84% diagnostic). **Then:** Book an authorized AHA skills session. **When Anki ships:** 15–20 cards/day on the weakest topic row only.

Official HeartCode BLS cognitive is typically **~25 open-resource questions / 84% pass plus Adult CPR/AED and Infant CPR skills**. Our mock is a longer cognitive diagnostic — not a course card.

Pitfalls this deck targets (when live)

Candidates still use two-finger infant compressions, skip back blows on adult FBAO, or treat this page as a BLS card. Cards force 2025 technique under spaced recall.

What this does not replace

An AHA Training Center course, skills testing, or a Provider card. Anki is **planned** on UniPrep — not a live Gumroad SKU yet. Independent prep — not AHA material.
