The RICS Quantity Surveying and Construction sector pathway leads to MRICS chartered membership through the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). What changed in the current exam cycle
- December 2025 pathway guide aligns MRICS QS requirements with the global Requirements and competencies structure.
- Contractors typically take Commercial management to Level 3; consultants typically take Design economics and cost planning to Level 3 — the other may be selected as an optional to Level 2.
- From 1 January 2026, up to five assessment attempts are permitted (earlier attempts do not count toward the limit).
- Case study must reflect a project within the last 24 months where you personally gave Level 3 reasoned advice.
