What changed in the current exam cycle
- From September 22, 2023 the GRE General Test shortened to about 1 hour 58 minutes.
- Analytical Writing dropped from two tasks to one Analyze an Issue task.
- Verbal and Quant each use 12 + 15 question sections (27 total per measure) with section-level adaptive difficulty.
- Verbal and Quant score scales remain 130–170; Writing remains 0–6.
